About Us

Su-Samannaya is a community-based non-government, non-profit making, non-political and secular, Social Development Organization working for more than 20 years in slums of Kolkata and adjacent districts of West Bengal for the development and empowerment of urban slum children, women, and other distressed population through Education, Health and Social Awareness.

From 2000, we are working to bring a sustainable change in the lives of the community people who represent the socio-economically background sectors of our society. We are reaching out to those people through our activities and programs who are not yet introduced to mainstream services. All of our programs of education, health, women’s empowerment, and social awareness are meant and specially designed keeping in mind this marginalized section of the society.

The Organization aspires with the evangelical end eave our to proceed for a society where the moral values and good principles of life living would be followed. The evils will perish away and the people will live with justice, equity, dignity and peace where mutual trust love, affection, mutual respect, sisterhood, and brotherhood will be maintained and honored.

Su-Samannaya is registered in the Registrar of Societies under the Registered Societies (Non-Government) and the type of NGO is the WEST BENGAL Registration ACT XXVI of 1961 bearing the Registration Number- S/99767/2000 dated 21/08/2000. The city and state of registration are Kolkata and West Bengal. Our Unique Id of VO/NGO is WB/2017/0116212.  Also registered under U/S 12A of Income-tax Act. 1961 bearing the number DIT (E)/S-71/8E/188/2000-01/2614-16 dated 01/11/2000. Registered under Exemption u/s 80G(5)(vi) of the I.T. Act, 1961 bearing the registration number DIT (E)/8E/188/00-01/8518-20 dated 19/03/2012. We are registered under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 and Registration Number is 147110693 dated 31/10/2016.

We have touched the lives of millions across West Bengal and maximized social return on investment in our partnerships with corporations from various sectors. Su-Sammannaya is empaneled with the National Commission for Women, Ministry of Panchayat Raj, Ministry of Culture, Indian Oil Corporation, ONGC, Steel Authority of India, The Hans Foundation Safdarjung Enclave, Braithwaite & Co. Ltd., General Insurance Corporation of India, Ministry of Culture, OAK Foundation, Lalit Kala Academy, and, Niti Aayog Darpan.

Su-Samannaya is currently implementing projects across West Bengal at; Purnachandrapur, Patharpratima / Ramchandrakhali, Basanti, South 24 Pgs./ Angus, Bhadreshwar, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, Jalpaiguri, Suri, Birbhum, Bangaon, North 24 Parganas.

  • Complete health care hospital for the rural people.
  • Revival of seemingly lost and forgotten Bengal’s folk art & culture by research study and nourishment of the artists and performers.
  • Arrangement of general Health & Hygiene & sanitation.
  • Encouragement to undergo Computer education and training.
  • Encouragement in small savings by all the incomes of the poor families (SHG forming).
  • Encouragement in the Embroidery Training Program for the benefit of poor families.
  • Construction & Maintenance of Multi Super Speciality Hospitals & Training-cum-Production Centers.
  • To Construct a Residential & Non-Residential School for poor students.

 

Our Vision
  • To Promote the “Swachh Bharat Mission” Programme & “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” Initiative as announced by Hon’ble Govt. of India, New Delhi.
  • To raise an XII standard girl’s higher secondary school & primary school building with a free hostel for the needy.
  • To raise a building for orphans.
  • To provide Non-Formal Education.
  • To raise a Destitute Home for the destitute girls and Old Age Home.
  • To raise awareness relating to prevention better than cure and eradication of diseases like Malaria, TB, Dengue, Cholera, HIV AIDS, etc.
  • To provide vocational training in common and popular production-oriented trade and crafts.
  • To raise Multi Super Speciality hospitals providing all possible radiological and pathological tests free of charge to the poor.
  • To provide a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU).
  • To undertake Disaster Management Programs with Training & Low-Cost Housing.
  • To expand our on-going programs on adult education, awareness of SHG groups and other research studies.
  • To raise a Drug De-addiction Center.
  • To raise a Building for Embroidery Training Center for poor women beneficiaries with the promotion of Animal Husbandry and Agricultural Activities.
  • To raise a Residential & Non-Residential School for poor students.
